Ground mounts are a great option for businesses and homes with rooftops too small to meet their electricity needs. Or for businesses and homes with rooftops that are not suitable for solar.
Depending on the land available, ground-mounted solar panels can be sized to match your business’ or home’s electricity consumption. They can also be optimized for highest efficiency.
Ground mounted arrays allow your solar panels to be to be placed on aluminum/steel pilings and framing connected to buried concrete footings or above-ground ballasted concrete piers. This framing keeps the ground mounted solar panels at a fixed angle and is an elegant and often cost-effective solution. Note: some standard ground mount systems can be manually adjusted throughout the year as seasons and sunlight changes.
Pole mounted systems keep the panels higher off the ground and offer customized shading beneath the panels for different applications. Pole mounts can also be designed with tracking systems. Tracking systems automatically tilt throughout the day to ideally capture the sun’s rays as the move across the sky. While more costly, one of the greatest benefits of a pole tracking system is that it is designed to produce 15-25% more energy than a fixed-mount system.
