WHY SOLAR?

1

Electricity Savings

The key reason that most households convert their power source to solar energy is to cut down their electrical bill because the source of the fuel – the sun – is free. By converting your home or business to use solar energy, you can save a significant savings in your electricity expenses. You would be absolutely surprised in the immediate change in your electric bills.
Residential electricity rates in South Carolina average 11.77 c/ kWh, which ranks the State 19th in the Nation.

2

Clean Power

Typical electricity is generated from fossil fuel, that will run out one day. We are primarily dependent on coal and natural gas to produce energy, which is terrible for our environment. Collectively, we should be concerned for our future quality of air. Solar energy is a good alternative to replace fossil fuels, as the major energy source. Solar power is renewable energy that we receive at absolutely no cost.

The world pollution is getting worse. Any effort that can reduce the pollution to the environment helps to save the earth. Solar panels are able to harness the energy from the sun and convert it to electricity. Therefore, the use of solar panels is environment friendly. Solar should be our primary source of energy. We should all have the initiative to make a positive environmental impact.

3

Increase Your Property Value and Marketability

Solar electric systems increase the value of homes and commercial properties in several ways.
They can reduce or eliminate the energy operating cost of the home or building.
The system eliminates the effect of electric rate inflation. As a component of the home or building, in many cases they can provide an attractive vehicle for financial investment.
These monetary benefits are financially quantifiable. A solar electric system compares very favorably with other home improvements in percentage of cost recovered. Often, a solar system can recover much more than 100% of its cost, and this percentage actually increases over time as electric rates increase.
A solar electric system can also supply numerous intangible benefits that may be valued by some buyers.
Studies have also shown that solar homes in South Carolina sell 20% faster than non-solar homes.

4

Easy to Own

Solar has little to no maintenance required.
Once you have installed the solar power system, it can last thirty to fifty years without major maintenance needed. We recommend the system to be cleaned and checked once a year, just to make sure everything is performing as it should. Since it requires very minimum maintenance cost, your operations cost should be minimal. We provide maintenance and operation services to any size client with a solar system.

5

Incentives Increase Your Return on Investment

Residential customers obtain a total of 55% in Tax Incentives from the Federal Government and the State of South Carolina when they install a Solar Electric Generating System. Combined with the electric savings, a home owner can achieve an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) as high as 9%, depending on system design and engineering requirements. Payback periods (cash purchase) can be between 7 and 10 years.
Commercial customers obtain a total of almost 75% in Tax Incentives from the Federal Government and the State of South Carolina when they install a Solar Electric Generating System. Commercial customers receive depreciation benefits to help offset the systems costs. Combined with the electric savings, a business can achieve an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) as high as 9% and higher, depending on the system design and engineering requirements. Payback periods (cash purchase) can be between 5 and 6 years.
Net metering means the utility company charges you the difference between what you consume from the grid and the electricity you generate from your solar electric generating system.
This allows your electric meter to spin backwards when your renewable energy system produces surplus electricity that is not immediately used by your house (during the middle of the day) and forward when electricity flows from the utility into your home (at night and during stormy weather).
Net Metering allows you to receive credit for the excess power, the power your system produces, the savings that you generate, further the reduction in your electric bill. Every killowatt hour (kWh) you supply to the grid, that credit of kWh you get back.
